Investigation & Research

Due to the fact that i had been on lock down during the pandemic this gave me plenty of time to sit on my back porch during class and watch the surrounding enviroment and see how birds interact with certain things. So as I continuously watched this tree in my backyard i Noticed that the area had more songbirds than anything else.

Brainstorming

With all this information, I had to sift through and pick which notes were the most importand not only for the birds nut also the interaction with the user.

Devolpment & Concepts

These are some of the ideas and concepts that I drew up for my designs before setteling on one.

Slide 2 Heading

Give them the proper feed. Millet a small, round grain, Millet is commonly found in seed mixes. millet is a favored food of many smaller, ground foraging bird. A handful of millet sprinkled on the ground will keep your juncos and sparrows happy.

Make sure they have water. It is commonly a good idea to have a nearby water source for the birds as they eat. they are attracted to water just as they are feeders.

Bird Protection.

Each Bird will come with matching colored stickers to place on the surrounding window area so the birds don’t fly into the window.

Squirrel Prevention

The bottom of the feeder will have a wire mesh cover so that the birds beak can get through but squirrels can’t.
